Natural materials (wood, bone, etc) can shift over time due to temperature and humidity....so pieces that are not a machine fit are not defects, but rather part of the natural material characteristics. DKC Knives come well lubricated (typically in oil) and need to be wiped down with a soft microfiber cloth when you receive the knife. Knives include instructions for knife care.
