Hakama for men's kimono, a must-have item for formal occasions, Japanese Traditional activities and Martial Arts uniforms. This is a pants-type "horse riding" Hakama ("Umanori-bakama") Entirely made of Polyester, it's durable and it has the perfect balance between solidity and softness. It's also machine-washable and resistant to wrinkles (we recommend using a laundry net and washing up to 30 degrees). There are two kinds of Japanese Hakama: the "horse riding" type (Umanori) and the "paper lantern" type (Andon). On the external side they look the same, but the difference is inside. While the Lantern Hakama has no sewings on the inside and it's shaped like a long skirt, Horse riding Hakama is divided in the internal part, so it's shaped and worn like pants. This characteristic makes the Umanori Hakama easier to wear and walk. * In order to choose the right size, we recommend that you choose the most fitting. "under the string" length. "Under the string length" is the length from the bottom of the front string/belt to the hem of the Hakama. Lower the tape measure vertically from the hip bone and measure the actual size up to the ankle (please measure on the side of your body).
