Sire Marcus Miller V3 is a 4-string electric bass, which Sire has developed in collaboration with the American bassist and composer Marcus Miller and has received an impressive reception of bassists and critics. Most of us know Marcus Miller as bassist for Miles Davis, Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, Paul Simon, David Sanborn and George Benson, or as a composer for, among others, Jay-Z, but Marcus Miller has also been a driving force in the development and production of electric basses, and in this connection he has been used by many reputable manufacturers such as Fender and Sadowsky. He has now merged with Sire to develop and produce a whole new range of electric basses. The Marcus Miller V3-4 is based on a traditional jazz bass design, with a body made in Indonesian mahogany, which is known to produce a full and overtoned tone that is also warm and clear. The neck is now made with Rolled Edges in Canadian maple, which, through its hardness and strength, minimizes movement in the neck and provides a stable and good playing experience, and at the same time gives the bass a persistent tone. Our V3 model’s Marcus Standard Bass Bridge may look like a basic bridge made with Zinc, but it is in fact an All Steel Material Bridge that adds durability and better sound achievement. The saddle is one of the most important parts of an electric bass, as it is crucial to the bass playability and sound. Depending on what material is being used, the saddle can either improve the bass tone or break it down. Although bone-saddles is both expensive and difficult to work with, bone are considered to deliver a more balanced and clear tone, and Sire has therefore chosen not to compromise on this point and has fitted the Marcus Miller V3 with a bone saddle. The pickup configuration of the Marcus Miller V3 is typical jazz bass with 2 single-coil pickups mounted side by side and wired to Sire's Marcus Heritage 3 preamplifier. The use of 2 pcs. 9V batteries enable the bass player to get a strong and powerful signal without the bass sound being pressed or unnatural. With a built-in 3-band EQ with bass, mid-tone and tweeter tone control, you get full control over your tone range, allowing you to customize bass sound for any music style. The mid-tone control has built-in sweep, so you can decide where in the mid-range area (200 Hz to 1 kHz) the mid-range check should take place.
