- Hinoki(Japanese Cypress) Hinoki cypress is Japanese original and also called as Japanese cypress. Its leaves and timber contain 1% of essential oil, and they are used medicinally. For these reasons, it has been widely used as cutting boards lately. High-Frequency Vacuum Dry The oil or natural organic ingredients of the tree émblemìze the unique characteristics of the tree. However, unfortunately, the high-temperature steam drying method used by most of the timber industry to dry wood dissipates most of the good parts of the tree such as the beneficial oil and natural organic ingredients. The only way to minimize the loss of beneficial oils and natural organic ingredients in the wood while drying the trees is to dry the wood using microwaves in a vacuum chamber at a low temperature. At the vacuum state, the water boiling point goes down enabling low-temperature water evaporation. Boumbi hinoki cutting board is produced by using a high-frequency vacuum dry technology.
