- Pennzoil Gold Synthetic Blend motor oil contains a mixture of conventional and synthetic base oils. Synthetic blend motor oils outperform conventional oils and are better for stop-and-go driving. Pennzoil Gold SAE 5W-20 Synthetic Blend Motor Oil is made from a synthetic base that offers better oxidative stability compared to conventional motor oils. Better oxidative stability reduces the rate of oxidation and keeps the oil from thickening and losing its original properties. It also contains active cleansing technology that helps prevent sludge and deposits by keeping dirt and contaminants suspended in the oil and away from engine parts. In fact, no leading conventional or synthetic blend oil helps keep engines cleaner. Redesigned for modern turbocharged gasoline direct injection (TGDI) engines, Pennzoil Gold provides protection against abnormal combustion phenomenon like low-speed pre-ignition.
