- The original Omloop knee-length thermal shorts are now made entirely of Nano Flex 3G fabric so they're ready for all conditions, from dry to wet to cold. You can call it a “convergence product”. A few years ago, we pioneered the first Omloop thermal short, inspired by pro racers who cut their kneepads so they only covered the crook of the knee at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad on a brisk, sunny morning. We scrambled to make a short cut to the knee and realized we could do it without a gripper elastic and that the extra 10cm of fabric added a great deal of warmth. That first Omloop short was made for cool, dry days like the one that inspired it, using our Thermoflex fabric. Fast forward to 2020 and to the third generation of our Nano Flex fabric which is as soft, stretchy, breathable and warm as our Thermoflex fabric, so we can make these shorts ideal for cool dry days, but also excellent on wet days. It's still a tool for the pros: these shorts are identical to the model we supply to Team Soudal Quick-Step.
