True Tones for Dark Hair Permanent Creme Hair Color is meant to be used on dark virgin hair in order to get vibrant results. Pre-lightening hair is not needed on virgin hair. This product cannot lift existing color. If you are overlapping previously colored hair you will not get a vibrant hue. For best results removed old color from hair before applying the dye. Violet has a red hue after it fades out. The violet is a dark plum shade almost like VR series.
