Appearance: Mixed Peony Poppies, also known as Papaver paeoniflorum, feature large, ruffled blooms that resemble the petals of a peony, coming in various colors like pink, red, purple, white, and even bi-colors. Growth: These poppies grow as annuals, thriving in well-drained soil with full sun exposure. They can reach heights of 2 to 3 feet, making them an eye-catching addition to gardens. Planting: Best sown directly where they are to flower since their roots are sensitive to disturbance. Sow seeds in early spring or late fall for blooms in late spring to early summer.
