When a cheap anchor will not hold, it is not saving you money. It is costing you a repair bill. The Better Boat 8.5lb anchor kit is a complete ready to rig system for boats 15 to 24 feet. It includes an 8.5lb hot dip galvanized fluke anchor, 6 feet of 1/4 inch galvanized steel chain with two 5/16 inch bow shackles, and 75 feet of 3/8 inch nylon rope with a stainless steel thimble eye. The fluke design digs into sand and mud bottoms on the first set, and the weighted chain keeps the shank angle low so the anchor holds through tide changes and wind shifts. The anchor and chain are hot dip galvanized steel, not the thin zinc plating that chips off cheap anchors after one season. Hot dip galvanizing is the same corrosion protection used on bridge cables and commercial dock hardware. It holds up in saltwater, freshwater, and UV exposure year after year. Every anchor in this kit has a pre drilled recovery hole in the crown. If the flukes snag on a rock or root, you can rig a retrieval line through the hole and pull the anchor free from the opposite direction instead of cutting your line and losing it. Also available in 13lb for boats 20 to 32 feet and 5lb for small boats, jon boats, dinghies, and canoes up to 15 feet.
