Miles Morales has had difficulty finding a balance between his personal and professional lives. After her father, Captain George Stacey, accused Spider-Gwen of murdering Peter Parker in another realm, Gwen Stacey joined the Spider Society, a group of Spider-People from various dimensions. The Spot, a villain who can create portals from his body as a result of the collider from the previous movie being destroyed and fusing with him since he was a scientist at Alchemax, makes an appearance, interrupting Miles and Gwen's reunion.After blaming Miles for his predicament, Spot intends to ruin his life. To do this, he travels through different worlds in search of more powerful colliders. Before being asked to join the Spider Society, Miles assists in saving the police inspector from falling debris while they are in Mumbattan, where they meet Pavitr Prabhakar/Spider-Man India. There, he encounters a large number of other Spider-People, including Miguel O'Hara/Spider-Man 2099 and Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman. Miles is informed by Miguel that he avoided a Canon Event that would have resulted in the inspector's demise, as has happened to numerous other Spider-People in the past. A Canon Event can be disrupted with catastrophic results for that universe. Miles understands that his father Jefferson, who will assume command in two days, is in danger. The Spider-People try to stop Miles from saving his father, but Miles outruns them all and is sent to a different dimension. By chance, Miles finds himself in Earth-42, the universe where the spider that bit him originated. The Jefferson of this reality has changed into the Prowler, but his uncle Aaron is still living and Jefferson has already passed away. In the meantime, Gwen organises a group to go save Miles, including Pavitr, Hobie Brown/Spider-Punk, Margo Kess/Spider-Byte, the resurrected Peter B Parker (and his child Mayday), Spider-Noir, Spider-Ham, and Peni Parker.
