- Installation Steps1. Turn off the water supply to the toilet. Flush the toilet bowl and drain the water from the bowl.2. Remove the pedal and base cover (if applicable to the toilet model).3. Remove the stainless steel strap and plastic half clip that hold the ceramic bowl and plastic base together. Check the fixture for cracks or warping. Replace if necessary.4. Tilt the ceramic bowl forward and grab the vacuum breaker behind the toilet to pull it out of the toilet. Carefully set the flush toilet aside.5. Remove the flush ball seal and bowl seal. Clean or replace if necessary.6. Remove the mounting screws and water valve. Dispose of old mounting screws.7. Disassemble and dispose of the spring bushing assembly.8. To remove the rotor shaft, rotate the flush ball 180° and remove the Phillips screw from the upper left corner of the ball. Pull the shaft out of the top of the base.9. To remove the flush ball, squeeze the ball until the pivot pin on the right side is released from the base. Place the ball in the base, turn it lengthwise, and remove.10. Apply silicone grease to the O-ring on the new rotor shaft and insert it into the base.11. Install the new flush ball according to the reverse disassembly procedure.12. Align the shaft and ball and connect them with Phillips screws. Do not over-tighten.13. Place the rinse ball in the top center position. Keep the rinse lever in the normal "up" position and insert the cartridge. Gently rotate the flush ball until the rotor shaft slides into the square hole of the filter element.14. Install the water valve with new screws (provided). Do not over-tighten. If the pedal does not move freely, loosen the screw slightly until it is able to move freely.15. Place the seal back on top of the base. Place the ceramic bowl back on the base, align the notch on the bottom of the bowl with the pins on the base (if applicable), and align the bowl outlet with the rinse ball. Reattach the vacuum breaker to the back of the toilet bowl, pushing it all the way into the rubber spacer.16. Reinstall the plastic half clamp, making sure the labels are interlocked at the front of the toilet. There will be a small gap behind the toilet.17. Install stainless steel strap clamp - tighten to 65 in.-lbs of torque.18. Turn on the water supply. Flush the toilet and check for leaks. Reinstall the base and pedal cover.
